40 Verses for 40 Days

For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook or Twitter, you know that at the beginning of Lent I said I was going to post a Bible verse everyday. However, mid-terms and spring break didn’t help me accomplish that… so here are all 40 verses for the 40 days of Lent.

1. Be still and know that I am God. ~Psalm 46:10

2. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest double-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. ~Hebrews 4:12

3. Choose this day who you will serve… as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. ~Joshua 24:15

4. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. ~Psalm 19:1

5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. ~Proverbs 3:5-6

6. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. ~ Exodus 14:14

7. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ~Matthew 6:34

8. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ~Genesis 1:3

40. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. ~ Matthew 28:6

HE IS RISEN INDEED! I hope you have a fabulous day relaxing and spending time with loved ones. Most of all, I hope you take today to remember the wonderful gift God gave us in His son, Jesus, and the joy and hope we can have in eternity because he paid for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead!
